While earnestly engaging with the context of art history, the artist creates works using techniques rooted in their background as a calligrapher, including custom-blended ink and subtractive methods such as erasing, wiping, and scraping. Theme: The artist explores themes of the individual's significance in contemporary society and the invisible presence of the island's voice—such as the sounds of waves and festivals—attempting to symbolize and visualize them through a painterly approach. Furthermore, the artist sublimates the coexistence of opposing dualities—such as the Japanese sensibility symbolized by wabi-sabi, “black and white,” “natural beauty and artificial beauty,” and “drawing and erasing”—into a single work, establishing them as the core of his aesthetic consciousness.
Voir plusTESHIMA est une île qui a été longtemps utilisée comme un dépotoir pour les déchets industriels. Elle a heureusement été réhabilitée il y a une vingtaine d'années. Elle fût refleurie, on y a planté des arbres , en grande partie des oliviers. En visitant cette île après sa réhabilitationn , GOSHOW y a enregistré des sons symboliques de l'île, le bruit des vagues , le sons des Matsuri (les festivals traditionnels du Japon). Ces sons ont ensuite été convertis en fréquences qui ont pu être visualisées via une plaque de Chladni (plaque en métal sur laquelle on projette des grains de sables qui prennent des formes géométriques par résonnance avec les fréquences) . Ces figures de Chladni ont été retranscrites avec de l'encre sur le papier. "La voix des éléments inaudibles de la nature" peut alors apparaître via la science. Cette série est une tentative de donner forme à des éléments qui existent mais ne peuvent être figurés.
